It is one of only four Dallas-Fort Worth markets that publish a size number at all, so a regional size ranking cannot honestly be built. Here is every number that exists, and the two proxies that work when a number does not. \## The four published numbers Of twenty-two DFW markets researched first-hand, eighteen publish nothing about their size. The four that do: \- [Dallas Farmers Market](/markets/dallas-farmers-market-the-shed), The Shed: "100+ Producers," repeated on its SNAP page as "over 100 local producers." - [Rockwall Farmers Market](/markets/rockwall-farmers-market): "has grown to over 45 vendors per season." - [Coppell Farmers Market](/markets/coppell-farmers-market): "the market has grown to over 40 vendors." - [Frisco Fresh Market](/markets/frisco-fresh-market): "with 92 stalls available for rent." That last one is not a vendor count. Ninety-two stalls is how many spaces the market has to rent, which tells you the size of the footprint and nothing about how many are filled on the morning you visit. Anyone quoting Frisco Fresh as a ninety-two vendor market is reading a capacity line as a headcount. The other three are the markets' own claims about themselves, worded as "over" or "100+," and none carries a count date. Vendor rosters change week to week and season to season, so treat them as scale, not as attendance. Some markets publish a vendor page you could count by hand. We do not publish those tallies as size figures, because a list of names on a website is not a roster of who set up this weekend, and several of those lists are visibly out of date. \## The two proxies that hold up When no number is published, two things in the directory data still tell you something real about scale. \*\*Days per week.\*\* Almost every market in DFW is a single four-hour Saturday morning. A market that runs more than one day a week is committing to more vendor supply and more operating overhead, which is a genuine signal. \*\*Year-round operation.\*\* Most DFW markets are seasonal, and a large share run reduced winter cadences, second-and-fourth Saturdays, or shut down entirely for two or three months. A market that opens every week through January is a bigger operation than its stall count alone suggests. \## What those proxies show [Dallas Farmers Market](/markets/dallas-farmers-market-the-shed) is the one operation that combines a permanent address, both weekend days, all year, and a published producer figure. The Shed sits at 1010 S Pearl Expy in Dallas and opens Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, weekly, all year. The market describes it as "local farmers, ranchers, and artisans gathering every weekend. Rain or shine, year-round. Free to attend." It names bread and pastries, honey and preserves, eggs and dairy, and pasture-raised meats as categories, and it accepts SNAP with a Double Up match of up to thirty dollars per day. One caution, because it belongs in the same paragraph as the size claim: Dallas Farmers Market makes no producer-only claim for The Shed, and it describes "farmers from within 400 miles away," a wider sourcing radius than the 150-mile figure most of the region's rule-publishing markets use. The largest published market is also the most loosely sourced one, in its own words. [Frisco Fresh Market](/markets/frisco-fresh-market) is the other two-day, year-round market, open Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sunday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Its sourcing rules exist but sit behind a vendor login, so there is nothing to compare.
